Safety
You are always talking to an AI
Seventh Period’s tutor tells students, at the start of a session and again every 3 hours, that they are talking to an AI tutor, not a person. The tutor never claims to be a person, a therapist, or a counselor, and never asks unprompted questions about a student’s feelings.
If something concerning comes up
If a student types something that sounds like they may be thinking about hurting themselves or someone else, or being hurt by someone, Seventh Period:
- Stops that tutoring turn — the message is not sent on to the tutor.
- Shows the student crisis resources: call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), text HOME to 741741 (Crisis Text Line), and — if they are in danger right now — call 911.
- Notifies the linked parent by email so they can check in.
What we log
We record that this happened — a timestamp and a general category (for example, “self-harm”) — so a parent can see it happened. The safety record itself contains no message text. A message sent during a mission (to the tutor, or a project write-up), a note, or a comment that triggers this is not saved. An answer submitted in a practice test or diagnostic is stored like any other answer and deleted on the normal schedule.
Not suitable for every situation
Seventh Period is a math and science tutor, not a crisis or mental-health service. See our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
